From St. Petersburg, FL, Timothy "TJ" Holmes earned national acclaim while competing for Lakewood High School. During his senior season, TJ would not only finish top in the state of Florida in the 400mH, but would also take home a bronze medal at the 2013 USATF Junior Outdoor Championships and silver at the New Balance Nationals the same year. In the first year of his post-prep career, TJ attended Baylor University where he continued his success on the national stage while also adding a bronze medal at the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships.

Following a transfer to the University of Florida, where he would graduate with a degree in African American Studies and a minor in Sports Management, TJ maintained his status as a contender on the world stage. While still donning the blue and orange for the Gators, Holmes earned a bronze medal at the 2017 USATF Outdoor Championships, landing him a spot on the World Championships team, where he would finish 5th in the world. Now competing professionally, TJ has eaned multiple runner-up finishes at USA national championships, and maintains a top-5 status in world rankings.

TJ is a very spiritual person, and he shares his faith with regular Testimony Tuesday posts which are posted to both YouTube and Facebook. TJ's future off the track plans include a diverse array of career interests, including restaurant and gym ownership, coaching, and home flipping.
