What is your favorite song to warm up to?
I actually don't listen to music. I like my mind clear so I can focus on the task at hand...winning!
What is your least favorite workout?
I can't stand 600's. I hate them with a passion! But if I have to run them, I run them hard.
What is your favorite TV Show?
Empire. It's the best show on TV right now.
What is your favorite restaurant?
TGIF. I like that it is a world wide chain.
Do you prefer running at night or in the morning?
I like running at night. We get to do that a lot in Europe. It's calming, serene, and I tend to feel smooth and relaxed under the lights.
What makes you run after all these year?
I just love to compete. I know it's a God given talent to run, and I intend to run until my wheels fall off.
You have made four Olympic teams, which is your favorite and why?
My favorite [Olympic] Games was Bejiing because I was an underdog. I ran my personal best in the 400 hurdles and won my second individual gold medal. Then to put the icing on the cake, I ran the 4x400 relay in which we won gold and set the Olympic record.
What is the most challenging aspect of running track?
As I have gotten older, sponsorship and funding opportunities have reduced significantly. The support of my fans, family and friends plays a vital role in my ability to keep running. Without them, it would not be possible to keep competing. I am grateful to all the individuals who have contributed to my career over the years.
What does the GTC mean to you?
The GTC is really exciting to be part of. I have always felt proud to be a part of the tradition that Georgia has in track and field. Now we have the opportunity to unite as a team, serve our community, and recieve much needed financial support.
