"I was a very good high school athlete, jumped 13'6. Went to college and jumped 13'6. Was going to be a police officer and then decided to train at the Olympic Training Center for a year and jumped 14'6. Then the following year jumped 15'1. Pole vault is not Kortney's only forte in the realm of sport. She can run the 100m in 11.8 seconds, and, as a former letterman in golf, she can hammer the ball over 300 yards.
