Born and raised in the greater Cleveland, OH area, Katie attended Olmsted Falls High School before heading south to attend Ashland University. While an Ashland Eagle, Katie would earn two NCAA DII National Championships (one indoor and one outdoor pole vault) as she worked toward a degree in Psychology with a minor in Fashion Merchandising. My dad passed away when I was 16. He was my biggest fan and my biggest inspiration. He would drive me an hour each way to practice, twice a week, 6 months out of the year. He would be right next to the pit every jump. I write "DAD" on the inside of my spikes, and before big jumps I'll touch my shoe to feel like he's there with me helping me!
