Born in Fort Collins, CO, Katie attended Fort Collins H.S. prior to the University of Washington, where she earned a degree in Public Health. While competing for the Huskies, she was an eight-time All-American and set school records in both the 1500m (4:10.66) and mile (4:34.98).
