Born and raised northwest of Chicago, I was an all-state standout at Prospect High School in Mount Prospect, IL. During my senior year, I would earn state runner-up honors in the 110m hurdles and bring home the state championship in the 300m hurdles. After high school, I took my talents to the Illini at the University of Illinois. Multiple injuries during my 2016 season had a lot of toll on myself physically and mentally and i suffered through depression, however listening to podcasts about positive thinking and practicing self-discipline, I was able to turn things around and overcome the depression that I had.
