Athlete Bio
Daniel Quigley
Born and raised in St. Louis, MO, Daniel attended Christian Brothers College H.S. prior to the University of Missouri, where he earned a Bachelors and Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering (medical device design & control systems). Daniel spent 6 years in the NCAA. During his time with Mizzou, he tore the labrum (cartilage) in his right hip while steepling, then tore the left shortly after getting back into shape from the first surgery. After those two years of being out, Daniel returned to break Mizzou school records in both indoor and outdoor 5k's, besting the previous mark on 7 occasions, in the end dropping the record down 22 seconds. A standout in the classroom as well, his Masters thesis research included designing and testing a prototype device for automatic oxygen regulation for premature infants in the NICU. He has fully committed himself to athletic endeavors for the time being, but is passionate about his other career and looking for opportunities to connect in the field of medical device design and control systems design. Daniel balances his time as a part-time engineering instructor with Lane Community College.
As the president of the Fermentation Science Club at Mizzou, Daniel cultivated a hobby for homebrewing through collaboration with local breweries and was able to brew in an expensive campus lab. Now brewing at home, he enjoys experimenting on a modest setup where he has made beer, wine, honey mead, and even apple cider. He loves to engage on the subject, and is always open to connect with people about brewing. Daniel brings a focus and dedication to everything in his life, and an intense curiously in how the world works. As he says, "I learned early on from family, especially my grandfathers, the importance of deliberate actions and hard work so I chase my dreams through those daily actions. Connect with me and let's chase our dreams together!"
