Staying true to her midwestern roots, Chantae attended Rolla High School in Rolla, MO prior to the University of Nebraska, where she earned a degree in Education. While with the Huskers, Chantae compiled 4 Big XII Championships and set two school records, graduating as the most accomplished heptathlete in the history of the university. Her biggest achievement to date came during the 2012 Olympic Trials, in which she placed third, setting personal bests for 5 of the 7 events, earning the Olympic A standard and a ticket to London. On the toll of mulitple events, Chantae says, "My hardest event in the heptathlon is the 800 because it really tests my mental!"

Off the track, Chantae consistently finds herself in fun situations due to her open and free spirit. She takes interest in creative outlets, including painting, DIY projects, and playing instruments. When able to settle down for the day, Chantae has two dogs that keep her company, Great Dane named Moose and American Bulldog named Benny. She gives back to the community as much as she can while setting an example of how a professional athlete should interact with and inspire the public.
