It’s that time of the year, we’re fully immersed with the indoor season, and throwers everywhere are asking one simple question—why does the weight throw exist? Well unfortunately, I’m not a magician or time traveler, and can’t make the weight un-exist. But, in an effort to alleviate all of your weight throw woes, on this week’s episode of Sean Don’s Knowledge Bombs I dive headfirst into how to manage the weight more effectively and make it more worth your while.
In the first part of this two-part series on the weight throw, I highlight what I believe to be the necessary technical concepts to make your throw as efficient as possible, in hopes of helping everyone out there set some PR’s! This list of foundational technical concepts goes over everything from posture, to orbit and ball movement, and even the mystical “pendulum” concept used by the USA’s two most successful hammer throwers, Lance Deal and Jud Logan!
Tune in to next week’s episode where I’ll go over how to train for the weight, both in the ring and in the weight room!
