Dathan Ritzenhein finishes 2nd to Ben True‘s debut win in the New York City Half Marathon. “True isn’t sure what is next for him, except that it will be shorter in distance. Dathan Ritzenehein has his eyes clearly set on something longer, the Boston Marathon. Ritz said this course with its initial downhill and later uphills is a great Boston simulator. ‘This was a great simulator for Boston for me.  Nicole DiMercurio wins the Virginia Beach Shamrock Half Marathon. The Virginia roads must feel pretty sweet under Nicole’s feet, as she also took the podium this past fall at the Richmond Half. Following this weekend’s win, she posted to Instagram, “With 4 weeks to go before Boston, I had the amazing opportunity to tune up at the [Shamrock] half marathon! I was thrilled to finish with a win, a course record, and a minute PR of 1:13.15!”

Gina Slaby and Maria Dalzot ran to top finishes at the Chuckanut 50K. Gina rounded out the podium with a 3rd place finish, besting Ellie Greenwood by seconds, and Maria finished 6th, in a race in which she said, “Woo-wee that hurt! My body was not having a good day from the start so it was a fight from 3 miles to the finish. But I got ‘er done and am thrilled with a 6th place finish in a stellar field,” on Instagram.

Alexi Pappas shares insight into her experience at the Winter Olympics, attending as an artist. “For my project, I traveled to PyeongChang with my partner Jeremy to write, direct, and star in a series of short films. It’s been nearly two years since my own Olympic experience where I broke a national record in the 10,000 meters for Team Greece, and I still feel like I have yet to fully express how being an Olympian felt to me.” Read the full feature Alexi Pappas: On Going to the Olympics as an Artist on TrackTown
