Vin Lananna placed on temporary administrative leave by USATF Board of Directors. “‘To be perfectly honest, I’m surprised and I guess I’m taken aback by the board’s decision,’ Lananna said. ‘I’ve been committed to track and field, this federation and the sport itself for 40 years. I’m going to put my energy into continuing to serve the sport.’ Board chair Steve Miller was quoted in the release as saying, ‘USATF has no reason to believe TrackTown and/or Mr. Lananna have done anything wrong and understand they have been told they are not a target of the investigation.’ But, Miller said, the move was necessary to avoid the appearance of conflict of interest.” Read the full article Vin Lananna ‘taken aback’ by the USATF board’s move to put him on temporary leave on Oregon Live, and the USATF Press Release on the matter

<< #realfriends >> * We all have that person or person's who have influenced our mentality in regards to athletics. I want to focus on one particular piece of that puzzle.. * When I first began training in Colorado I was excited to join the likes of now Olympian @bor.hillary and Augustus Maiyo aka 'Gus'. What I didn't expect was how warm they welcomed me, as if I was a brother. Too many times groups let ego encompass the minds of those within, hurting the group and also their growth. Never felt that, not once. Gus, a man of few words taught me many lessons these last year's of which I can't thank him enough for. He has lead by example and revealed some of the deepest secrets of distance running: There are no short cuts, how to be consistent and how to be a good teammate. Make sure you thank the ones that were positive influences on your journey! . . . Thank you Gus & Hillary for being not only great teammates but brothers along the way It's been a great ride so far winning medals together, making #Teamusa together and setting personal bests TOGETHER. A ride far from over! VAMOS . . #thankful #teammates #ADP #leadbyexample #journeyofjoegeezi #training #runchat
