News & Notes

Runner’s World takes a look at the recent onslaught of high performing women marathoners from the United States. They note that four of the 10 fastest times have been clocked in the past 14 months, pointing to top-tier training groups, specific focus on marathon, and confidence for this surge. In the article, Deena Kastor is quoted as saying, “It all starts with belief. I think all of these women who are running so well believe in their training environment, they believe they have the capability to be up on the podium of these major races. With that belief, you also have talent and hard work and competitive fire because you don’t want someone else to take that spot away from you.” Read the full article Why U.S. Women Marathoners Are Having a Moment on Runner’s World
