Runner’s World takes a look at the recent onslaught of high performing women marathoners from the United States. They note that four of the 10 fastest times have been clocked in the past 14 months, pointing to top-tier training groups, specific focus on marathon, and confidence for this surge. In the article, Deena Kastor is quoted as saying, “It all starts with belief. I think all of these women who are running so well believe in their training environment, they believe they have the capability to be up on the podium of these major races. Sarah Crouch wins the Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Half. Rocking the new 361 Degrees racing kit, Sarah crossed the finish line with a time of 1:19:06, besting the next competitor by more than a minute and a half. In a post to Instagram, Sarah said, “Another Rock and Roll victory in the books! My post-race indulgence will be a fabulous week home in Washington with family, memories, and a hundred shades of green.” She then hinted at her next race being in Madrid in the coming month. Sarah Pease broke the tape at the Rodes City 10K. Breaking the tape in a time of 34:46, Sarah bested the field on a chilly, wet day. For those keeping score, this is her second win the Louisville Triple Crown of Running Series, with the third and final leg coming at the Papa John’s 10 Miles on April 7.
Johnny Dutch to compete on American Ninja Warrior. Gearing up for the event by training with the Ultimate Backyard Gym, and will be part of the qualifying competition taking place on April 13 and 14 in Miami, FL. Johnny is the latest elite track and field elite athlete to earn an opportunity to compete, following Jeremy Taiwo, Nick Symmonds, and DeeDee Trotter, among others, who have taken to the course in years past.
