 Coaching legend Charles Leathers has passed away. “Leathers was affectionately known as ‘Mr. Hurdles’ because his athletes won 22 section division titles, 16 Southern Section Masters Meet titles and nine state titles in hurdles events during his 17 seasons.” Among the athletes Leathers coached were Joanna Hayes, Chaunte Lowe, and Whitney Ashley.  Tyler Andrews won the Washington DC Rock n’ Roll Marathon. Finishing ahead of the next finisher by nearly 5 minutes, in a post on Instagram, Tyler stated, “Mission accomplished with a victory and course record at the #RnRDC Marathon and a perfect training effort for my World Record attempt next month. Time was 2’20’45 after a very moderate first 10 miles or so passed in 56′ and then a great last 16 at goal 50k pace.” Tyler’s attempt at the 50K World Record will take place on April 13 at the Santa Barbara Easter Relays

 Sarah Pease finished atop the podium at the 15th Annual Anthem 5K in Louisville, Kentucky. The event was the first leg of the Louisville Triple Crown of Running, after which Sarah said on Instagram, “So good to be back on a start line this morning after over 3 months!” The Triple Crown of Running is a three-race series or road races of varying distances with all net proceeds from the 3 events going to Crusade for Children. Sarah’s finish time was 16:48.
