Olympic and World Champion Asbel Kiprop has tested positive for Erythropoietin (EPO), reportedly. On the matter, Kiprop said, “I have read the reports linking me to doping. USATF announced that they will be seeking a new host site for the 2020 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials. “The USATF Board of Directors unanimously authorized the move amid continuing litigation surrounding construction of a new Hilmer Lodge Stadium at Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) in Walnut, California, and the resulting delays on planning for a successful 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials.” The is not to be confused with the Olympic Team Trials Marathon which was recently announced to take place in Atlanta. Barbara Nwaba inducted into the UC-Santa Barbara Hall of Fame. “Barbara Nwaba set numerous UCSB Track & Field records and won the Big West Heptathlon in 2012 with a meet record 5,714 points. Garrett Heath will run the 10K at Payton Jordon, his debut at the distance. Perhaps being on the home turf of his alma mater in Palo Alto will provide inspiration for his introduction to, “25 laps of what I expect to be anything thing but comfort.”
