News & Notes

Gabriele Grunewald and Brave Like Gabe launch the 1224 Campaign. In connection with the Brave Like Gabe 5K taking place in St. Paul, MN on May 20, the 1224 campaign shines a light on the number of new diagnoses of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma each year. “1224 is a big or small number depending on your perspective. We hope to show how powerful a group of 1224 can be through this race and its contribution to research!” Click here to support this great cause by signing up for the live or virtual 5K.

Sarah Crouch won the Rock ‘n’ Roll Madrid Half Marathon…but that is only 1/3 of the story. Also crushing goals were Sarah’s two sisters, Shannon, who set a 5K PB of 15:49 at Mt. SAC, and Georgia, who won the open division while earning an Olympic Trials Marathon qualifier in London. Sarah has been on a bit of a tear this season in the Rock ‘n’ Roll series, picking up the W at the Dallas Half just last month. In a post on Instagram, she thanked sponsor 361 Degrees for, “supporting our dreams as we chase weekends like this in this crazy wonderful sport!!!”

The Grand Blue Mile is going to be nuts. Taking place on Tuesday, April 24, the opening event in the 2018 USATF Running Circuit has a starting field that would rival any event you’ll find this season. Seriously, here are the entries for the Men’s and Women’s races, and tell me you don’t get giddy just reading through the list!

Chad Noelle won the 1500m at Mt. SAC then posted about it afterward from In-N-Out Burger – check the location tag; clearly Chad knows how to California
