When you start to get that feeling that the best is yet to come… ✨
I’ve been pretty quiet about my training the last couple months. Mostly because the primary objective has been to just run a bunch of easy miles. Then also because it’s summer in the South and nothing looks impressive when it’s always 100% humidity and 75° on a good day.
I’ve been back up in the 100-110mpw range for 5 of the last 6 weeks. And I’ve done 5 runs of 23mi or more in the same time.
I’ve been toying with the idea of finding my first road ultra and exploring what my goals might be when I eventually do. But it looks like I’ll have to keep marinating on that until next year. ?
At this point I’m back in the marathon mindset.
I just did my first pseudo workout yesterday. It felt different. Regardless of how fast or slow I was running, my head was really in it. For the first time in too long.
It’s still too early to call it, but I feel it’s safe to say that the last 3 months since Grandma’s Half in Duluth have had the desired effect. I feel stronger, fresher, and more motivated than I’ve felt in a long time.
Fall schedule:
- 10/7 Twin Cities 10mi (US Champs)
