A Few of Our Favorite Things: Accessories and Tech

The holidays are here and you may be looking for those last minute gift items to make someone’s special day that much better. We asked the pros to share their favorite accessories and sport tech. Find some new gear for yourself, or for someone you know will love these offerings from ROKA, Qalo, Garmin, Aftershokz, and Beats, with guidance from some of the USA’s top athletes. Check out their recommendations below!

Garrett Heath: ROKA Halsey Sunglasses

These are the perfect combo of casual and athletic wear. I rely on them almost daily for protecting my eyes and doing my best to look fashionable off the track. The design also allows them to stick your face better than any other sunglasses I’ve tried for a more satisfying in-run experience. I can’t say enough good things about them.

Carolina Moll: Silicone Wedding Rings

Any engaged or married couples out there?? I am obsessed with these silicone rings that I bought off Amazon. My husband and I are both athletes, so we would much rather wear these durable silicone rings, and not damage our personal ones.

Heather Kampf: Aftershokz Wireless Headphones

Aftershokz are bone conducting headphones that don’t get stuffed into your ear so you can still hear ambient noise (like an oncoming car or attacker!) – the sound quality is actually amazing and these would be a great gift for any woman in particular on your list who doesn’t want to sacrifice her podcasts/music for safety while out exercising.

Mary Cain: Beats Wireless Earbuds

I can’t go a day without my wireless beats. These have helped get me through many cross-training days and solo gym sessions. They’re also just great for wearing while commuting around the city.

Garrett Heath: Garmin Forerunner 235

I’ve tried a lot of watches over the years and this is the one that I continue to go back to. It’s got all the essential GPS features while still being super lightweight and user friendly. I’m not convinced the wrist HR is always super accurate in training but it’s an interesting stat to have available and seemingly more accurate when sitting around throughout the day. And you can easily auto upload your daily runs to Strava with this!
