Born in Ornisha, Nigeria, Blessing has since been a long-time California resident having attended Long Beach Polytechnic H.S. before Washington State University, where she earned a degree in Psychology and Sociology. While with the Cougars, Blessing set the freshman school record for the Triple Jump. Following a brief hiatus from the sport after her time at WSU, Blessing earned three top 10 finishes in the USA Outdoor Championships between 2009 and 2011, and finished 2013 ranked #4 in the USA by T&F News.

Off the track, Blessing has many interests, including snowbording, meditating, dancing, and singing. She also spends time enriching others through fitness training, where she helps people lose weight, tone up, and focus on specific sport training. As a single mother, being a parent and positive role model to her son is an everyday priority. Blessing is a free spirit and deep thinker, craving knowlede and exploring entertaining ideas that may not be considered the norm. She prides herself on living and thinking outside the box and not being trapped into a specific group, category, or stigma.
