Athlete Bio
Anthony Solis
SoCal thorugh and through, Anthony was a three-time California State Champion at Barstow High School in track and cross country. He then headed north to California State University at Chico, and in his freshman year, Solis set the school's true freshman record in the 5k, landing him a spot on the USATF Junior Track and Field Championships team, and an eventual place on the US Junior team for the Pan Am Games that same year (related FloTrack interview here). Though he would excel early, Anthony left Chico after two years, returning to Barstow, and now running with Cal Coast Track Club Elite. Anthony is managed by NES Elite, and is also sponsored by Garden of Life, Rudy Project, and Roll Recovery. On his personal style, Anthony says, "I like to enjoy the moments, and show I'm having fun doing what I love. Whether that be the way I dress to a race, and so forth. I'm cocky in prediction, confident in preparation, but always humble in victory or defeat."
Anthony's love of sports is evident, sporting a favorite squad in every major sport. You can find him rooting on Manchester United, Anaheim Ducks, Indiana Pacers, Oakland Raiders, Oakland Athletics, and LA Galaxy any time those teams suit up. His interests also find themselves in a galaxy far, far away as a Star Wars fanatic. So much so, that he is emblazened prominently with a Storm Trooper tattoo on his right quad.
When it is all said and done, Anthony gives credit where credit is due, stating, "I love to spend time with family and friends as much as possible since they're the ones who help push me to reach my goals." When not logging tons of miles, Anthony balances his exercise and competition time by working full-time for Starbucks or modifying his 2012 VW Jetta, named Yeezus.
